OSEI - as the only national institution of sports medicine in Hungary - carries out the following activities:
- outpatient and inpatient specialist care for athletes and those entitled to benefits;
- operation, professional management and methodological tasks of the National Sports Health Network;
- operation and development of the National Sports Teams Service,
- operation of the Call Center, and organization of patient journeys related to the extraordinary, advanced level of health care of those entitled to benefits;
- providing sports medicine for training camps and Olympic centers, professional supervision, and ensuring the treatment of injuries that occur there;
- organizing advanced screening tests related to the preparation of national team members of Olympic and non-Olympic sports (botrh adult and junior; and within the framework of patient journey organization), body composition analysis and dietetic counseling, and monitoring the care of the screened cases from a sports medicine perspective;
- performing duties related to the tests of the performance physiology laboratory (developing methods to facilitate legal performance enhancement, determining maximum performance capacity);
- professional advocacy, developing and supervising the methodology of sports medicine training and further training;
- international liaison (FIMS);
- domestic contact with further significant organizations and associations operating in the state and civil institutional system of sports;
- professional supervision of the online registration system of sports medicine licenses and sports medicine licensing tasks, issuing certificates, processing and managing them in a digital system;
- providing professional training and development in sports medicine, as well as training and development in related allied professions (masseur, dietician, physiotherapist).
